Chelgren Hockey Quilt

Here is our 1st Sashed T-shirt quilt we made! Our daughter had a blast playing hockey and got to travel to tournaments with it as well, so we put her travel shirts and hockey shirts into one memorable quilt for her. Each T-Shirt is a finished 12" block and we set them with 2" sashing 4 blocks across and 5 blocks down. The sashing is a fun, bright orange cotton fabric from The Dutch Rose Quilt Shop - (we only use quilt shop quality fabrics in our quilts) that accents the splashes of orange in the Tshirts and bordered it with a gorgeous cobalt blue cotton fabric...finishing touch is the black binding! Cuddle backing is now a family favorite as it is super soft and cozy, we used Silver Shannon Cuddle and 80/20 Cotton/Poly Blend Quilters Dream batting inside. I found this fun Hockey Sticks design to download which was perfect to give it a little design without being too busy plus it shows up nicely on the backing. Even though she is several years out of high school now, she is thrilled to have a lasting memory of her hockey days.
